Written by on April 5, 2022

Winter has finally melted away as Spring makes it’s long waited introduction, with it comes a host of new fashion trends. Bright, fun trends, and few that reemerged after their peak in the 2010s. While winter chilled and left us hiding in our coats, the fashion of S/S [Spring/Summer] 2022 invites warmth, individuality, and most importantly, dopamine. Ready-to-Wear runways were paraded with color, knitwear, maximalist fabrics, and a uniqueness that might inspire you to change your look, oh and did I mention skin? How about a fresh start this spring? Stand out, embrace the warmer weather, and look fabulous doing it. Here our a few trends to get a start on your Spring style:

Color Blocking

Low effort and so bold, color blocking is an easy way to make a statement this spring. Experiment with different color combinations, neutrals or brights, and piece together something so playful you can’t help but feel happy. You can even color block patterns, which is an exciting way to add depth and movement to your wardrobe. Tie together your look with repetition of colors, statement accessories and shoes, and make sure to stick to solid pieces.

Crochet

Eccentric and cozy, crochet is one trend that will never go out of style. Cute in the 70s and even cuter now, find a crochet piece in stores or take up a new hobby and make one for yourself. Crochet can be strappy and sheer or full coverage and comfy, and the variety of yarn creates a variety of texture and styles. Go for a fuzzy mohair hat, cotton bolero sweater or bright, acrylic patchwork cardigan. So many small businesses offer such a colorful variety of pieces that you’re bound to find something that works for you.

Maximalism

Less is not always more. Pre-pandemic, simple elegance was in, but after months of sitting in sweats and staying in, COVID-19 has inspired maximalism as a source of light and life. Mix colors, texture, patterns, and silhouettes to create a look that demands attention. Opt for tassels, reach for the sequins, flaunt faux feathers, and create a look that perfectly juxtaposes the dreariness of isolation.

Miniskirts

Hemlines are rising and miniskirts are in this season. Reminiscent of the 60s and 90s, ultra-mini miniskirts are back and better than ever. Pleated, high-rise, low-rise, structured, or not, miniskirts are available in a variety of colors, patterns, and shapes to satisfy the need of show

Cut Outs

Expose some skin this spring and incorporate pieces with cut-outs into your wardrobe. A dominating trend of the 60s, cut-outs are back and an exciting new element to incorporate into a spring look book. You get to choose where and how much skin to bear, and the flexibility of cut-outs leaves you in control of exactly how you use this trend.
