About Us

Black Squirrel Radio is Kent State University’s student-run radio station with over two decades on the airwaves.

While BSR in its current form was established in 2005, student radio at KSU has a legacy of over 80 years, with 1940s students participating in hands-on broadcasting experiences via WKSU while taking classes like Practical Radio.

Nowadays, we broadcast a range of student-hosted radio shows and podcasts every day of the week. During breaks from school, we broadcast a 24/7 music playlist.
