J*A*K*E & The Crystal Skulls Live at Hive Mind (7/18/19)

They’re energetic. They’re playful. They’re groovy.

J*A*K*E & The Crystal Skulls are an indie, surf rock band that encapsulates the warmness of the west coast. Spearheaded by the tender vocals and personable lyrics by J*A*K*E, the group is a tight-knit unit that enjoys playing together and knows how to make the audience become involved.

Their latest performance at Hive Mind in Akron this past Thursday made that quite evident. Covering Rage Against The Machine to close out your set is a bold move (considering the drastic change in tempo from their songs), but these players delivered.

It is worth noting that the band is relentless in their pursuit to perform at any venue available. That kind of work ethic is sure to produce results and more importantly, further bolster their sound. If you’ve got the time, do yourself a favor and catch one of their shows.
