Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time(EST) a new era for WWE begins.

Friday Night Smackdown is here, and it will begin a transition into professional wrestling onto one of the biggest channels on television, FOX. Here are some of the big moments that are sure to make headlines on the first episode.

Kofi Kingston(C) vs Brock Lesnar(W/ Paul Heyman). WWE Championship

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will go head-to-head with “The Beast” Brock Lesnar in the debut episode of Smackdown. Does Kofi stand a chance? I’ve got a feeling that we have yet to see the end of Kingston’s reign as champion. We’ll know for sure in what I can only imagine will be the main event of the show.

Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon. Ladder Match. Loser is FIRED

Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon will have a Ladder Match on the FOX debut with both careers on the line. With the contracts holding their fates hanging over the stage, this will assuredly be an incredibly tense match with potential to be match of the night.

The Four Horsewomen Tag Team Match

One time rivals Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will be teaming up against Sasha Banks and the Smackdown Women’s champion Bayley. With Flair and Bayley yet to be assigned matches for the Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View(PPV) this Sunday, I can only imagine they’ll be the highlights of this legendary matchup.

Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan

In advance of a tag match scheduled for Hell in a Cell, Roman Reigns will face off against Erick Rowan. I’m anticipating interference from Erick Rowan’s partner Luke Harper, and then an all out brawl with Daniel Bryan joining in. Either way, Rowan and Reigns have shown in recent history that they are more than able to have exciting matches, so this’ll assuredly follow suit.

Friday Night Smackdown Guests?

Monday, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced an appearance for the debut of Smackdown on FOX.  WWE has also announced that he will be joined by a slew of other WWE Hall of Famers. I expect us to see faces like Big Show, Kane and probably Ric Flair. It wouldn’t surprise me to see an appearance from The Undertaker as well. With talks of his joining WWE Backstage, I think we can also pray for an appearance from CM Punk, but that one may be reaching.
