Cleveland’s Heart Attack Man is the triple threat band you never you knew you needed until now. Not only are they taking the pop punk scene by storm, they are social media masterminds and comedy sketch connoisseurs. Meet the alternative quartet comprised of Eric Egan [Vocals, Guitar], Adam Paduch [Drums], Seamus Groman [Bass] and Ty Sickels [Guitar].
The band are gearing up for the release of their sophomore LP Fake Blood, a followup to their 2017 riff-heavy The Manson Family. Last week, they released the title-track as a single ahead of the album’s April 19 release date. You can listen to the head-ganging, melodic and haunting tune, while watching frontman Eric Egan undergo a bloody science experiment.
While you’re at it, you can even watch Heart Attack Man’s “biggest fan” review the album!

I told you they were a triple threat! Black Squirrel Radio had the chance to talk with the Eric Egan to dive into all things Fake Blood and discuss their upcoming tour.
Describe the process of writing your recently released title-track “Fake Blood.”
This song was the oldest idea on the album. I’ve had the chorus melody in my head for years, but we went over a couple rounds of piecing it together instrumentally, so it wasn’t the first completed song. I wrote the lyrics when I was at jury duty last summer.
When you embark on your spring tour with Seaway, Free Throw and Young Culture, how do you hope it differs from other tours?
I hope I see people jump roping in the pit and I hope people bring me oatmeal raisin cookies at every show.
How long did it take you to write your LP and what was that process like?
Like the melody of “Fake Blood,” some of these songs have been slowly cooking in the oven for awhile. The process of arranging them musically was pretty effortless because we are a well-oiled musical machine haha. One of the songs on the LP was sporadically written while we were in the studio, so I guess the ideas on this album span a period of around three and a half to four years.
I have heard all about you guys posting the famed orange beanie to eBay! Who is the social media mastermind and how has it been an effective tool for your band?
I am the mastermind. It has been extremely effective—a lot of people have discovered us because of my internet presence. The way I look at it, I’m here to make music and have fun. Sometimes it attracts haters, but I simply just don’t care if some loser on the internet doesn’t like what I’m about, and I’m not going to let that stop me from being myself. I’ve had people tell me they live vicariously through my antics and are inspired by my attitude, so I don’t care about the haters because all they do is make the world a more miserable place to live. They only have as much power as you give them.

What can fans expect from Heart Attack Man in the rest of 2019?
Well, unless we get in a horrible accident and all die or some hater decides to kill me, we plan on touring heavily the rest of 2019! Hoping to raise hell overseas. A big shout out to all the members of The Baby Carrot Gang—we are a force to be reckoned with and no one can stop us! Big thank you to our supporters and a big no thank you to the haters.
After all their hard work and long hours in the studio, Heart Attack Man are ready to share their tunes on the road with Seaway, Free Throw and Young Culture this spring. Tickets can be purchased here.
