The Cleveland Cavaliers came into Wednesday night looking to show improvements on defense against the Charlotte Hornets.

For a while, that’s what happened until Cleveland Native Terry Rozier went off in the second half and missing a game-winning shot, as the Cavs escaped with a 100-98 win.

In a game where the Cavs limited the Hornets to only 64 points through the third quarter, but Rozier helped get his squad back in.

At one point, Cleveland held a 24-point edge in the contest, with Cedi Osman having 11 points in the first quarter, and four of the five starters reaching double digits in scoring outside of rookie guard Darius Garland.

This included double-doubles by Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love, with the latter finishing three assists shy of a triple-double.

Despite almost losing the lead at the end due to turnovers that plagued the team throughout the game, Coach John Beilein took the high road during his postgame press conference.

“A win is a win is a win,” Beilein said.

And this was a win that the players surely needed.
