An Early Look at the Browns 2018 Schedule

Last season, the Cleveland Browns finished 0-16, ripping the hearts out of their diehard fans. However, this offseason new general manager John Dorsey has tore apart the old roster to pieces, trying to begin to build a championship contending team for years to come. With all the new additions the Browns have added, and the fact they have two top five picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, many NFL insiders feel that the Browns could make one of the quickest turnarounds in the 99 year history of the game.

With that being said, the NFL released the entire 2018 schedule last night. There are some intriguing games on the Browns schedule this season that could result in a win.

VS Steelers (Week 1. September 9, 2018)

The Browns kick off the 2018 season the same way they started and ended the 2017 season, facing the arch rival Steelers. In last year’s season opener, the Browns lost by a field goal and played the Steelers way throughout. The Browns always play the Steelers tough at home, and I think this year they will come out motivated to start off the year better than all of last season.

VS Jets (Week 3. September 20, 2018)

Last season, the Browns did not get a prime time game, but this year they do, and it comes against the Jets in week three, a team also in the rebuilding phase, and a team who just barely squeaked out a victory ln week five last year at Firstenergy Stadium. I believe the Browns have a better roster than the Jets, and if Joe Thomas is doing this game in the broadcast booth, the Browns will have even more of a reason to show out under the lights.

VS Ravens (Week 5. October 7, 2018)

The Browns just might start off 3-0 at home and 2-0 in the division to start the 2018 campaign. In week five, the former Browns, the Baltimore Ravens, come to town for another hard fought AFC North showdown. Just like Pittsburgh, the Browns always play the Ravens tough, especially at home, and the Ravens are getting older, so the Browns should be the more physical team, and the faster team on that day. Plus, Baltimore would be coming off another physical game in Pittsburgh with the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, so they will probably already be bruised before they arrive in Cleveland.

VS Chargers (Week 6. October 14, 2018)

Two Seasons ago, the Chargers gift-wrapped the Browns only win on the season when kicker Josh Lambo missed two field goals late in the fourth quarter. Last year, the Chargers beat the Browns in LA 19-10, but the Browns made a lot of costly errors themself. I am a big believer in time difference, and as long as the Browns do not make mistakes, they should be able to capitalize on a sloppy Charger team who will not be used to the eastern time zone.

VS Bengals (Week 16. December 23, 2018)

The last home game for the Browns comes on December 23, and it happens to be against the Cincinnati Bengals, a team who I have the Browns losing to earlier in the season in Cincinnati. After starting out 4-2, since the schedule gets so much more difficult, I have the Browns dropping eight straight games, meaning they would enter this game 4-10. However, they will play well enough in this game to send the loyal fans home happy for Christmas with a win.

VS Ravens (Week 17. December 30, 2018)

The Browns road schedule this year is so tough they may not win a road game. Since this is week 17 though, who kno
