The Highlight Real is about community, current events, and culture. Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B are the main genres of music that are played on the station. There will be songs often played that people may not know but the purpose of that is to introduce people to something new. The Highlight Real is a genuine and authentic radio show that highlights many topics and issues pertaining to those within the black community and/or Kent State community but also discusses issues outside of those.
