Every week of programing we will be highlighting the Black Squirrel Radio Show of the Week!
This week’s show is Cruisin’ with Maxwell
Cruisin’ with Maxwell airs every Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Host Maxwell Nobis has been with Black Squirrel Radio for three years and is currently the BSR Music Director. But with Cruisin’ with Maxwell, DJ Maxwell helps you cruise into the weekend with a blend of new music including hip hop and latino pop!
Describe your show:
Max: Tune in. Kick Back. Let’s Cruise.
How did you come up with your show idea:
Max: I really just wanted to cruise and listen to G-funk.
What do you do in your free time:
Max: In my free time, I really like to think of how the evolution of refrigerator design can inspire me to better myself. I also write short stories.
Who are some of your favorite bands/artists:
Max: My favorite artists are Johnny Cash, Kanye West, and Frank Sinatra. Genres I would have never thought I’d like: Reggae
Favorite BSR memory:
Max: My favorite memory at the station would be revealing the new brand.
What is the best way to cruise:
Max: Try to listen to Dr. Dre, Jordan Rakei, and Jimi Hendrix next time you cruise. Trust me: You won’t want to stop cruising.
Why did you get involved with BSR:
Max: The main reason why I have my show is to express myself in one the best ways possible: My voice complemented with music. Musicians are some of my greatest sources of inspiration to elevate my consciousness, to sharpen my writing skills, and to appreciate myself. Sinatra helped me turn my sadness into something beautiful. Kanye showed me the importance of self-love. Johnny Cash humbled my spirit to show me that life is tough. Having a radio show helps me spread messages like these to anyone who has an Internet connection.
