If I had two words to describe the 3OH!3 and Emo Nite Want House Party Tour at the House of Blues Cleveland on Nov. 29, 2018, it would be “unique insanity.” The stage was set up like a typical living room in some random house. There was a sofa in the middle of the stage with stuffed wolves flanked on both sides of the sofa and behind it was a setup for a DJ station.
The purpose of the Want House Party was to celebrate the 10th anniversary of crunkcore, electropop duo 3OH!3’s second album, Want. The evening started with Emo Nite playing popular alternative songs to warm up the crowd. At one point, the audience was invited on stage to party alongside Emo Nite and opening act, lil aaron.
Throughout this part of the house party, there was a controlled chaotic insanity happening onstage. During the spectacle onstage, there were the usual things one would see a typical house party: a drunk belligerent girl in her bra, two heterosexual guys getting “friendly”with each other, and a group of girls surveying the party from a visible vantage point.
Minutes before 3OH!3 took the stage, the audience were asked to leave the stage. Seconds before Nathaniel Motte and Sean Foreman, the duo known as 3OH!3, took the stage, the wolves on both sides of the sofa began to move and lasers came out of their eyes. Motte and Foreman entered the stage and perform songs from their second album. The duo were in prime form and the crowd eagerly sang along with 3OH!3.
