Ed Sheeran has  finally broken his year long hiatus with third album, Divide.

It seems there are two worlds that hold Ed Sheeran’s music: One captures the masses with pop and upbeat hits; the other swoons our souls into a world of love and sadness.

Perhaps this is what he means by Divide.

Sheeran released two singles, Shape of You and Castle on the Hill, earlier this year. I can tell they’ve both been well received by how often I hear Shape of You bopping on the radio and how my Mom, a musical connoisseur, told me how much she liked Castle on the Hill.

If you’re a sucker for a nice love serenade like myself, I recommend you bask in the beauty of songs, Dive, Perfect, Hearts Don’t Break Around Here and How Would You Feel as soon as possible. I am certain they could make even the most cynical person weak at the knees. Fair warning, these might jerk some real hopeless romantic tears out of you.

On the other hand, Eraser revives the rapping sense Sheeran seemed to drop somewhere along the line. It’s twangy, catchy and describes the past challenges Sheeran overcame to get where he is today.

Another upbeat jam is Barcelona, that features some Spanish vocals which give the album a real twist. Galway Girl gives at a fun Irish background which is very suitable for this festive month.

From creating a beautiful song in remembrance to his Grandmother in Supermarket Flowers to hitting a humorous jab at an ex-lover’s new lover in New Man- this album really sees it all.

Definitely give this album a listen if you are in need of some new tunes. There is simply a song for everyone with its vast array of style. If you love it enough, be sure to catch Ed Sheeran on tour this summer. He’ll be stopping at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on September 9th!
