In a break from our normal programming over at the BSR Sessions workshop, we’re happy to share with you some recordings of Oboist Scott Little. Scott is a student here at the Kent State School of Music, and was gracious enough to share some of his talents with us. In the videos below, you’ll hear him playing selections from works by English composer Benjamin Britten and Frenchman Gilles Silvestrini. Each movement portrays a character or scene that Scott illuminates through musical storytelling. After watching his music, you can find his interview as well, where he discusses the these pieces in greater depth, as well as the musician’s role as storyteller and some of the quirks of becoming a good oboist.
