After Buffalo took down No. 1 Toledo in the first semifinal, Kent State handled No. 2 Ball State in the second semifinal, preventing the top two seeded teams from making the MAC Championship Game. Akron Comes From Behind to Advance to MAC Championship

The Zips fell behind 2-0 early on, but scored the game’s next eight points to go up six with 15:53 remaining in the first half.  Unfortunately for Akron, those eight points would wind up being half of their first half total. Kent State Makes Third Straight Conference Championship Game

After upsetting Toledo in the quarterfinals, the Golden Flashes struggled to put points on the board early on against Bowling Green. In the first five minutes and change, Kent State had two made shots, three turnovers, and an 11-6 deficit. Buffalo Takes Down Top-Seeded Toledo in Semifinals

After falling behind in their quarterfinal victory against Western Michigan, Toledo again fell behind early on. The Rockets found themselves in a 9-0 hole early on, but went on an 11-2 run to tie the game.
