Concert Review: Sick Weekend at Ace of Cups

I had the unique pleasure of recently attending Sick Weekend at Ace of Cups in Columbus while, ironically, sick. Sick Weekend, is a three-day long shindig with an always excellent lineup of rock-and-roll bands. I was able to make the trek with some friends for day two to see Molly Burch, The Bolos, Johnny Ill Concert Review: Sick Weekend at Ace of Cups

Concert Review: Allah-Las and Babe Rainbow at The Beachland Ballroom

The Beachland Ballroom has always been one of my favorite venues in Cleveland, from its disco ball, the cute vintage store in its underbelly, to the seemingly out-of-place folk paintings near the main stage.  When I heard that the Allah-Las, a Los Angeles-based band with an insanely cool vibe and sound, was playing there, I Concert Review: Allah-Las and Babe Rainbow at The Beachland Ballroom

Kentchella Rocks the Rec

By: Emily Brodke and Erin Keller Students were quickly scurrying into the Kent State Rec Center on Friday night, trying to escape the frigid cold.  Most people had come to check out Kentchella, the first music and arts festival to be held in the rec. I hung out at the Main Stage, sponsored by Black Kentchella Rocks the Rec

Concert Review: Lumineers at the Wolstein Center

Image via: Getty Images March 11th, 2017 Rating:        After the parking attendant made me to move my car the third time, me and my less than willing sister stood outside of the Wolstein Stadium doors in Cleveland. It’s Lumineers today, and apparently the show sold out months ago. I pop another cough drop Concert Review: Lumineers at the Wolstein Center

Concert Review: Power Trip, Iron Reagan, Concealed Blade, Protestor at Now That’s Class

Last Saturday, the authors made their way to Lakewood from their respective corners of the Greater Cleveland area, hitting a couple record stores and grabbing some grub before the big gig. Boasting perhaps one of the biggest lineups in crossover thrash right now, Now That’s Class was jam packed even as we arrived behind schedule. Concert Review: Agent Orange at The Grog Shop

Rating:        My buddy Brandon and I show up to the Grog Shop after slurping down vegan milkshakes at Tommy’s down the street. I’m a bit skeptical of any show that happens on a Tuesday, but there’s a line of people outside the venue which promises a decent sized crowd. Concert Review: We The Kings at the Grog Shop

By: Holli Phillips and Mikala Lugen Image courtesy of: wethekingsmusic.com   Nostalgia was in the air the night of March 3 at the Grog Shop. Mikala and I set out to Cleveland to interview a new and upcoming band, Plaid Brixx. Little did we know that we would be attending a 10 year anniversary tour for We Concert Review: We The Kings at the Grog Shop

Concert: Switchfoot and Relient K

Thursday, Feb. 16, Relient K and Switchfoot stormed the stage at The House of Blues, Cleveland. With just two bands on the setlist, Relient K and Switchfoot took advantage their time and brought everyone off their feet. Relient K’s shining moment was of course “Sadie Hawkins Dance,” and Switchfoot nailed their ‘fake’ ending with confetti Concert: Switchfoot and Relient K

Concert Review: Lacey Sturm at The House of Blues

Concert: Lacey Sturm, Letters From the Fire, Stitched Up Heart and Palisades Location: House of Blues Date: Feb. 7 2017 It’s been some time since I’ve been to a concert and this particular tour, featuring headliner Lacey Sturm, was interesting, both good and, well medicore.
