Voodoo Cast airs every Monday from 6pm-8pm. Host Makoto Ikeyama is an international student from Japan, he is in his first semester at Kent and at BSR with his rock based radio show.

Describe your show:
Makoto: This show is almost completely about rock music. But sometimes I play some songs that are not rock because the songs are kind of related to rock, for example James Blake (he actually wrote some songs with rock musicians).

How did you come up with your show concept:
Makoto: I had been playing the piano and the violin. And also I play the guitar and DJ with turntables. Those instruments have a great deal of influence on my music preference. Especially, rock music which is my most favorite genre of all. So I hit upon that and my show consist of many kinds of rock music, ranging from 1960s to 2010s.

What do you do in your free time:
Makoto: Play the guitar, watch movies, gaming and composing songs.

Who are some of your favorite bands/artists:
Makoto: Radiohead, Bon Iver, Kanye West, James Blake, R.E.M., Daft Punk and more.

If your radio show were a sandwich, what type of sandwich would it be and why:
Makoto: I suppose that my show would be a Mexican sandwich because it tastes pretty good with Corona Extra. Otherwise it would be also good to eat that while driving just like my show. I hope everyone think so.

If you could have any magical power what would you want and why:
Makoto: Absolutely teleportation. Because I want to travel all around the world. It would be nice to take my friends or girlfriend with me.

Be sure to check out Voodoo Cast every Monday from 6pm to 8pm only on Black Squirrel Radio!
