NFL Picks Against the Spread Week 8

Redskins@Giants(+1)

In an NFC East showdown from Metlife Stadium, the 4-2 Redskins will look to their lead in the division when they face off against the 1-6 New York Giants. On paper, the Redskins should win this game going away, but there is a reason why every game is played. Last Monday night, the Giants played competitively against a Falcons team that many thought would just blow them out. Even though the Giants have a lot of drama in the locker room and have begun to trade away valuable pieces in order to rebuild, I do not think the Giants want to get embarrassed again at home like they did the last time they played in New York. They are also 0-2 in their division with two bad losses against the Cowboys and Eagles, so I think the Giants respond well against a Redskins team that has not quite taken off yet. Plus, the Giants always play the Redskins well no matter either team’s record.

Saints@Vikings(-1)

The Saints return to the place that robbed them of a potential super bowl birth last season: Minnesota. Of course, last season in the divisional round of the playoffs was the last time these two teams faced off and when the “Minneapolis Miracle” happened. I am going to bet that the Saints have not forgotten how bad they felt on that cold January day, and they are going to want their revenge in primetime. This is a battle that should come down to the wire, and I think this time Drew Brees delivers the Saints home a win.
