Join The BSR Staff!

Being a D.J. at Black Squirrel Radio is a really cool gig. As a matter of fact, you should apply to audition to host your very own R0CKIN, AWESOME, two hour weekly show. Applications can be found here.

However, BSR does a lot more than just radio shows. We offer a plethora of departments that are in need of assistants and coordinators. All the department descriptions are listed below.

 

Web:

Director: Brandon Lewis

About Web Staff: Web Staff is my department! The BSR Web Staff is responsible for producing the content seen on blacksquirrelradio.com. All Kent State students are encouraged to apply.

Multimedia:

Director: Kat O’Neal

About Multimedia: BSR’s Multimedia department is responsible for any photography or videography put out. We do concert photography, create videos for the station and record sessions with bands.

Production:

Director: Julia Kelch

About Production: The BSR production department is responsible for creating, editing, and distributing the dozens of podcasts our station has to offer, as well as creating audio ads for our radio shows!

Music: 

Director: Grace-Marie Davies

About Music: The music department is responsible for selecting the music for our BSR DJ’s and sorting through music promotion we get at the station.

About Sports: Do you enjoy watching and debating about sports? Have any interest in becoming a radio DJ, sports blogger, or calling any of the Kent State athletics games.

Street Team:

Director: Ava Pernotto 

About Street Team: Street Team works with the Marketing and Promo Department. We help them distribute fliers, advertise events, and spread the word about BSR!

Marketing and Promotions 

Director: Hailey Barnett 

About Marketing and Promotions: The Marketing and Promotions Department is responsible of BSR’s image on campus through marketing efforts. This includes but isn’t limited to social media efforts, event planning, fundraisers and concert ideas. The Marketing and Promotions team also works closely with the Street Team Department.

Design:

Director: Sam Salkin

About Design: The design department is in charge of creating promotional material for the station in the form of physical posters or digital materials. Knowledge and ownership of Adobe products is preferred, willing to help teach those who are maybe starting out on these programs. We are accepting coordinators, or just overall designs/illustrations/photos that people would like to possibly have on an upcoming event poster. Technology:

Director: Sean Fine

About Technology: The BSR Technology department assists in ensuring all studio and station equipment is operational and in good condition. The Technology department also assists the Web Content and Production Directors with technical duties associated with their respective positions.
