Black Squirrel Radio – Fall 2022 Applications
No matter if you’re a returning Radio Jockey/Web Staffer or someone new who wants to put the RAD in radio, we would love to have you on our team.
Black Squirrel Radio (BSR) is looking for the RADDEST students at Kent State to join out student-run station. BSR plays a variety of genres, we discuss pop culture (and maybe not so popular), sports and so much more. We air live student content, streaming online 24/7! It’s time for student content/programming to return to the WORLD WIDE WEB. (Student content airs between 8a.m. – 2a.m.)
BSR HAS POSITIONS BOTH ON-AIR AND IN-STUDIO. IF YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST INTEREST IN JOINING OUR TEAM, THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO AND LEARN. WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING TO TRAIN FUTURE LEADERS.

Radio Jockey: This is an on-air talent role. You can choose a 1 to 2-hour time slot to create a show about whatever topics you choose. Learn to operate a sound board for live broadcasts in-studio. Promote the station, its shows, our partners and sponsors on-air. Interview local or major musical acts on-air. Use of social media may also be required. Please use KSU email when applying.

Web Team (Digital Content Producer): Write, create, share content via our website blacksquirrelradio.com. Generate traffic to our site where you can talk about everything from music, sports, and pop culture and more where audiences can listen to college radio 24/7. Bring more digital content to our social media and internet content. Digital media/content producer can create videos and photos for content like artist interviews, concerts, music reviews, and promotion of the station. Please use KSU email when applying.
Department coordinators: Coordinators assist BSR department directors with their d2d operations within their departments. Working collaboratively with all departments toward the goals of the station on and off air. You will meet with director or additional direction once applied and accepted to join department.
