Every week of programming we will be highlighting the Black Squirrel Radio Show of the Week

Black Cat Radio is hosted by Maureen Joyce and Jordan King. The pair have had their late night program at BSR for over a year and are also members of the band Swell Tides.

Describe your show:
Space. Ever heard of it? A place where billions of galaxies coexist across time. And where you can listen to us spin all things rock music–from classic to modern, local to intergalactic.

How did you come up with your show concept:
Uh, we’ve read a lot of books.

What do you do in your free time:
Play music and brush our teeth (not at the same time).

Who are some of your favorite bands/artists:
Zimbabwean Dancehall Singers

What is your favorite show memory:
When Maureen’s sister would call in from Moldova.

What is your favorite thing about BSR:
It’s a way to express our c r e a t i v i t y for millions to hear.

Who were your favorite show guests:
Flipcoin and the Drawing Blanks!

How did you come up with your show name:
We wanted to be 100% original

What are the best concerts you’ve ever been to:
Jordan: Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall and The Muggers, Akron PorchRokr, Fleet Foxes, and Paul McCartney (with my mom)

Maureen: John Fogerty, The Beach Boys, Car Seat Headrest

If you could see anyone in concert who would it be and why:
God because she would save our souls from eternal damnation, and also she rips at drums.
